The lecture topic: public sociology: theory and practice

Speaker's brief introduction: Wang Xun, male, Ph. D. (1995), professor of sociology at the University of Wisconsin, parker plug, and won tenure of the University Wisconsin in the United States at 2000. He learned from Professor Fei Xiaotong to finish master task, and do China's rural survey research from 1982 to 1984. After getting the master's degree in 1984, he was assigned to teach at Shanghai University sociology department, and he was the first to put forward that elderly care insurance should be established in China's rural (see 1983), and one of the earliest who put forward the development of northwest China (see < humanities magazine> 1984). Since 1996,he has been invited to do a visiting scholar at the university of domestic well-known lecture, and has repeatedly invited to participate in lecture at domestic various well-known universities and project review.

He has been invited to t attend the international conference and read papers at United States, Finland, Australia, New Zealand, Israel, Taiwan, Hong Kong, India, Mexico and other countries and regions. He is member of international committee and interdisciplinary committee at the University of Wisconsin in the United States, and he used to be Senator of Professor Senate and member of graduate committee at the University of Wisconsin, etc. In 2002 he was elected as director of Chinese sociology association candidates in North America. Since 2002 he was member of the Headquarters Committee and director of Development Research Center of the national association of Chinese schools in USA. In 2003 was elected to the board of directors "HuaMei Society", and the current President of "HuaMei Society".
